Turning Your Back On The Lord Won't Make Him Go Away

Written By Daryl Stout

1) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
Just so you can, in your life, engage in sin and play.
Better than you know yourself, The Lord sees it all.
Pride before destruction, haughtiness before you fall.

2) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
At your death, it's Christ or you, your sin debt to pay.
Your righteousness as filthy rags, there before The Lord.
For His Word is sharper than any two edged sword.

3) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
God's standard is perfection, and none on Earth can pay.
Except for Christ, The King Of Kings, The Way, The Life, The Truth.
This applies to all, whether, they're adults or youth.

4) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
Every one will stand before Him, there on Judgment Day.
No guilt question, pardon, mercy, or hint of appeal.
All you've said and done, whether open or concealed.

5) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
At death, the grace of God will end, then it's too late to pray.
Most will end up at The Judgment Of The Great White Throne.
No one will defend you there, naked and alone.

6) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
You can fool the preacher, friends, in what you do and say.
But, in Judgment before Christ, no question of your guilt.
If your soul is not covered, by Blood that Christ spilt.

7) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
God's a Gentleman, if you, want to go your way.
One is saved by Grace Through Faith, not of works, to boast.
If you choose to reject Christ, you will regret it most.

8) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
If you spurn Him, you'll regret, eternally, each day.
Believe On Christ, the one thing, that God does require.
Those who don't are destined for, Eternal Lake Of Fire.

9) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
Your decision for The Lord, The Most Important Day.
Yet, if you prefer your heart, to there, take The Mark.
Eternal torment, pain, is yours, in the flame, so dark.

10) Turning your back on The Lord won't make Him go away.
No one will defend your soul, there on Judgment Day.
Your life you will account for; with God, you cannot fudge.
Will Jesus be your Saviour?? Or will He be your Judge??77
