The Preaching Of The Cross

''The Preaching of the Cross''

Based on 1 Corinthians 1:18-19

Words and Music by Daryl Stout

1. Oh, it's such a joy to hear, The Preaching of The Cross.
How God reached out in love so dear, while we in sin were lost.
Crucified on Calvary, oh how great the cost
To redeem mankind, the story of The Preaching of the Cross.

2. It's the Power of God to all the saved, The Preaching of the Cross.
What joy there was, the day when we made Jesus Christ the ''boss''.
On that Cross, He paid the debt, and rebuilt the bridge across
Between God and man, the story of The Preaching of the Cross.

3. To sinful man, it's foolishness, The Preaching of the Cross.
Their hearts toward God are numb and cold, like a winter frost.
Living for themselves, their lives, full of evil glossed;
And ignoring the story of The Preaching of the Cross.

4. But there's a day coming soon when The Preaching of the Cross
Will cost men their very lives when they say their thoughts...
That through Christ's death mankind redeemed; we with a price are bought.
Oh, the sacrifice, the story of The Preaching of the Cross.

5. Don't put it off any longer, friend, The Preaching of the Cross.
God gave His Son to save your soul from eternally being lost.
For we can never the debt repay, as we'd be at a loss
To Him who gave us the story of The Preaching of the Cross.

6. Yes, it's such a joy to hear, The Preaching of The Cross.
How God reached out in love so dear, while we in sin were lost.
Crucified on Calvary, oh how great the cost
To redeem mankind, the story of The Preaching of the Cross.
