Oh, That You Would Bless Me

''Oh, that you would bless me'' (The Prayer Of Jabez)

Based on I Chronicles 4:9-10 and Proverbs 3:5-6

Words and Music By Daryl Stout

REFRAIN:

''Oh, that you would bless me, with spiritual gifts and gains''.
''Let Your Hand keep me from harm, so that I may be free from pain''.
''Enlarge my territory, in the sunshine and the rain''.
''And, I claim by faith, Thank You, Praise You, God...And, I pray in Jesus Name''.

1. More honorable than his brothers, was the child Jabez there.
Named by his mother as she bore him, with childbirth's pain and care.
But, while his name meant sorrow, as if no joy to share;
God granted Jabez his request, when he prayed this prayer.
[REFRAIN]

2. Trust your whole life to the Lord, and lean not to your own ways.
Acknowledge Him, and He'll direct your earthly life each day.
Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour now; do not delay.
And, you'll be blessed as Jabez was, when you to God will pray. [REFRAIN]
