The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend

''The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend''

Written By Daryl Stout

1) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Yet, they praise The Lord Of Hosts, Our Savior, and Our Friend.
In days before Christ does return, most will fall away.
They think that they can enter Heaven, in some other way.

2) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Rather have ear tickling, feel good words, portend.
They're rather have their egos stroked, that God is only Love.
But, He's a God of Justice too, there in Heaven, above.

3) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
They'd rather have contemporary words, and beat there to blend.
Nothing on repentance there, and relationship with Christ.
Whose Death and Resurrection paid, our sins awful price.

4) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
No preaching on the curse of sin, which Christ's Death, would mend.
To all who believed on Him, the one thing God required.
It would deliver all these souls from The Lake Of Fire.

5) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Most pervert The Word Of God, The Truth man loves to bend.
The whole counsel of The Lord, they don't dare to preach.
It's toxic to their congregation, as chemicals of bleach.

6) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
They say the Bible's out of date; God's Rules, we can there, bend.
But, if The Lord God changed, all would, in fire, be consumed.
Now and for eternity, all would be there, doomed.

7) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
The Scourging and the Crucifixion, in words they do portend.
But, Christ who knew no sin, became it, so we could become.
The righteousness of God there through, shed blood of His Son.

8) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
For God, He So Loved The World, His Son To Earth, He'd send.
''Amazing Grace, How Sweet The Sound, That Saved A Wretch Like Me.''
''How Great Thou Art, There Sings My Soul, My Savior, God To Thee''.

9) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
The Only Way To Heaven Christ, The Saved's Eternal Friend.
''What A Friend We Have In Jesus, Our Sins and Griefs To Bear.''
''A Privilege To Carry All, our woes to God in Prayer''.

10) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Accepting what Christ did for us, the enmity would end.
All I can say ''Amazing Love!! How Great Can It Be??''
''That Thou, My God, My Friend For Life, Should There Die For Me!!''.

11) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Earth is His Creation There, His Rules He will not bend.
''Just As I Am'', I come to Christ, there on bended knee.
For on ''The Old Rugged Cross'', Christ did the work for me.

12) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
At our death or rapture there, our troubles, forever end.
''What Can Wash Away My Sin?? It's Nothing But The Blood''.
Of the Precious Lamb Of God, who cleansed our sins of mud.

13) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
To pay all our cost of sin, no one could money, lend.
''Beneath The Cross Of Jesus, I There Will Take My Stand''.
To cleanse my sins with The Blood, from His Nail pierced Hands.

14) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
In thankfulness and grateful heart; both I can't pretend.
''In The Cross, In The Cross, Be My Glory Ever''
''Till My Raptured Soul There Finds, Rest Beyond The River''.

15) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
He cried ''It is finished!!'', and, our sin debt, He'd expend.
''Alas, and Did My Saviour Bleed?? And Did My Soverign Die??''.
''Would He Devote That Sacred Head, For Sinners Such As I??''.

16) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
In Christ's Love there for us, I can't comprehend.
''There Is Fountain Filled With Blood, From Immanuel's Veins''.
''Sinners plunged beneath that Flood, lose all their guilty stains''.

17) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
If not for Christ's Shed Blood On The Cross; He wouldn't be our Friend.
Without The Resurrection There, It's Just Not The Same.
Salvation Would Be Worthless, There...and Even Jesus' Name.

18) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
We can't earn or buy salvation, as with a beverage vend.
While Salvation a Free Gift, it cost Christ everything.
Yet, He is The Lord Of Lords, and The King Of Kings.

19) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
When I stand before The Lord, My Savior and My Friend.
The words are so inadequate, just to say ''Thank You''.
I can't repay You for what you did; Your Love, it is so true.

20) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
The cost there for our sin debt, too great for us to spend.
If you're offended by these hymns, don't take it out on me.
You can tell The Lord Himself, there in eternity.

21) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Heaven My Eternal Home, There With Christ, I'll spend.
All of my eternity; to Him, my voice will raise.
As He alone, My Friend For Life, is worthy of all praise.

22) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
I miss these classic worship hymns; in Heaven, they won't end.
Closer by the second there, is the Rapture Day.
I'll be with Christ, The King Of Kings, The Truth, The Life, The Way.

23) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
He said that it would be this way, as time went toward the end.
The believing remnant there, would see Christ's Loving Face.
Recipients of His Perfect Love, True Amazing Grace.

24) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
If you spurn God's Free Love Gift, Christ Away, you send.
You'll regret that there before Him on His Judgment Throne.
As He casts you into Hell, as one He's never known.

25) The Old Hymns Are Rarely Heard, Because They Now Offend.
Christ wants to be your Savior, Lord, and eternal Friend.
Your eternal destiny, depends there on your choice.
If you accept, or there reject, Christ's Dear Loving Voice.
